Data Center Interconnect

Data center interconnect links join equipment, rooms and sites. The right design starts with the two endpoints: their interface speed, supported optics, fibre route and required reach. S-Optics supplies optical transceivers and cabling for these requirements, with compatibility reviewed against the actual platform.

Define both ends of the link

Record the switch or router model and port type at each end. Confirm the distance, available fibre mode, connector and any existing patch panels. For higher-speed links, note whether the connection is direct, breakout or part of a structured cabling system. The optic and cable specification must suit both the equipment and the installed route.

What to include in a request

  • Equipment make, model and interface speed at each endpoint.
  • Required reach and the fibre type already installed.
  • Connector, polarity and fibre-count details where MPO/MTP is involved.
  • Target quantity, spare units and deployment schedule.

Browse standard products to compare available optics and cables. For a project-specific assembly, use the MPO/MTP request or DAC/AOC request. For compatibility or link-design questions, contact technical support with both endpoint models.
